I found a Mitsubishi brochure while cleaning my room today.
I secretly still want an i- MiEV damnit.

I want one too. Just for shits and giggles

I saw one of these behind me when I got on the highway the other day! I’m somewhat surprised they can drive at (or at least near) highway speeds...

I’m mildly terrified at the prospect of highway speeds in an i-MiEV.

According to Wikipedia they have an 80mph top speed, so fast enough, barely. No word on wh ether or not the range drops to like 5 miles if you push it that hard.

Exactly. There's not enough range there for me to do much, but on some level I would like one.

Rear engine & rwd, like a 911.
DeDion rear suspension, like Caterman.
It’s very light, like NA miata.
The enthusiat car that enthusiats pass over.

There is ONE local one around here (far right of shot)
....I’ve spotted it a few times, but I’ve never seen another in person in my life...

I once stopped traffic for a picture of one.

I did not have to go to such extremes (dashcam in my case)
, but I admire your tenacity :P

Coworker had one, bought it off lease for like nothing. IIRC it was only a year or two old and $ 10k with barely any miles.
I was at an EV scooter start up and he charged it daily at work. Rode it in, fun little gold cart around town.

My university has a bunch of these as campus runabouts. They are phasing out their old GEM carts with them.

Fun fact, they are still making them 10 years later.

N
ot sure if you know what things were like there
back in ‘
95,
but at the time
I was living and working in Halifax. Everyday I’d walk past
Eastlink
off Robie Street and admire the most exotic car I’d seen in the flesh
.
A green convertible with a tan top. A Porsche? Nope. A Mercedes? Nope. It was a brand new
BMW E36!
I realize some of your shots have been of tourists but still, things have changed so much . When I visit now and go to Spring Garden it appears to be dripping with money .

Spring Garden is one of the more popular spots downtown nowadays I’d say. I live near Mahone Bay, but I went to uni in Halifax for 7 years. I haven’t lived there in another 7 years (my god, how time flies when you think about it...). The iMiev pic I caught above was in Lunenburg just near where you start to enter ‘O
ld Town’.
Occasionally in Halifax you’ll spot a Lamborghini or Ferrari, depending what part of the city you’re in....but they are very rare and are usually older models (not that that is a bad thing!)
I would’ve been in upper Elementary school in ‘95, so my memories of Halifax then are pretty faded
! :)

I just wish we got the true kei version, instead of one embiggened by a few inches for MURRICA.
(Realistically, even if they had brought the normal version, it would’ve had the longer European bumpers, BUT STILL.)

I saw one of these at a Mitsubishi dealership in 2012. The real novelty is the Wheego Whip. The Wheego dealer near me became Grand Motorcars, yet another dealer than sells northeast/Florida auction cars.

These are very fast thorough a roundabout, especially in a business livery. I think it was flower delivery. Absolutely quicker than a 1997 Honda Civic Sedan on new all seasons.
